IMIYA BOARD MEETING Wednesday, November 19, 7:30PM

Brief check in.
In an effort to give everyone a voice in the meeting, let’s keep the initial sharing to 5 min until each person has had the opportunity to speak. Following, please feel free to share further.
Also, I would like to arrange a meeting time so Melanie will be able to join the meeting starting in January. The Board decided to meet on Sundays every other month for a longer period of time.

IYNAUS REP – Rebecca Wallace
IYNAUS is restructuring in 2026. THe organization is looking at different possibilities for the future of IYNAUS. Regions could take on more functions or the regions will be reduced and more functions will be centralized. Rebecca is interested in hearing comments and questions from the Board.

GRANTS – Mandy Coates, Melanie Doskocil
Alyssa Sikora was awarded a grant to attend a workshop in November.
Board members eligible for IYNAUS convention offering. The Board discussed opening offerings to board members.
IYNAUS Convention Grant. Mandy met with Susan Abernethy to figure out where the scholarship committee originated from. The subcommittee is part of the bylaws. Non-board members can join the subcommittee. We needed to figure out whether the potential recipients are members of IYNAUS and IMIYA. The Board discussed how to award the grant monies. Mandy will create a form to vote on how to award the monies. The Board decided to roll over the remaining grant money to the next year to help support the convention attendance.

MEMBERSHIP – Kara Durland
Newsletter and IYNAUS submission
Newsletter – Yoga Sutra spotlight and articles/essays from the community
Grant testimonials. It would help to highlight people from the community to generate interest in IMIYA and IMIYA grants. Former IMIYA members could speak to the benefits of serving on the board and to the community.

OUTREACH/COMMUNICATION – Sara Mahowald

TREASURER – Cecilia Huisman

SECRETARY / Website – Charlotte Hardwicke
The IMIYA Newsletters are being added to the site.
The Board decided to gather testimonials from recent grant awardees to add to newsletters and grant webpage.
Charlotte will adjust speed on testimonials on the grant page.

YOGA AND EQUITY – Joanne Pearson
I was unable to attend the most recent offering. Hopefully, it will be posted on the website.

OTHER
IMIYA Lunch. Dec 6th@Park Meadow
T Shirts – IMIYA and Conference (Mandy/Melanie/Sara) – The Board is working to move forward with the t-shirts.
